The Encyclopedia of Counseling is a well known book that was written by Dr. Howard Rosenthal. This book is commonly paired with Dr. Rosenthal's Vital Information and Review Questions for the NCE, CPCE and State Counseling Exam. I personally listened to the audio at least 5 days a week on the way to work and back home in my car. This book resources offers a review section at the back of the book that you can go over before diving right into the content. The text is known to provide great information to help you answer situational questions. There are plenty of practice questions to help aid in application on the real exam. The book is primarily in a multiple choice format but is easy to read.

Con for this book is that the format is different than the NCE exam itself and material seem to be a bit outdated.
